Monumental Way of the Cross

Worth Seeing

Monumental Way of the Cross

On the hillside above the sanctuary winds the monumental Way of the Cross, inaugurated in 1971: fourteen bronze stations by sculptor Francesco Messina along a green path, with sweeping views over the town and the plain below.

The route takes between half an hour and an hour of easy walking and is one of the experiences pilgrim groups love most. The path climbs steadily: comfortable shoes are a must.
